    About the Opportunity

    Hawai'i Pacific Health is seeking a dedicated Part Time Community Pediatrician to join our collaborative group providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for the entire state of Hawaii. Be an integral part of the community physician network as well as the inpatient hospital system and the many subspecialty services provided by the medical center.

    What You'll Do:

    • Evaluate and treat general outpatients in the pediatric outpatient clinic at Kapi'olani Medical Center. The clinic is a safety net clinic as well as providing care for a large number of medically complex children.
    • Teach medical students, pediatric, family medicine and psychiatry residents to provide primary care.
    • Provide and teach the care of primary care clinic patients with ADHD, anxiety and depression
    • Take care of newborns in the normal nursery and teach medical students, pediatric and family medicine residents to do the same.
    • Perform circumcisions
    • Provide after hours telephone care
    • Give lectures during academic half day on assigned primary care topics.
    • Provide cross coverage to adolescents in the youth correctional system as needed to cover the adolescent medicine doctor's vacation time

    Qualifications:

    • MD or DO degree

    • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics

    About Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children

    Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i's only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawaii's leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit medical center delivers an average of 6,000 babies per year and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawaii and the Pacific region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The medical center is home to the Kapi'olani Women's Center and the Women's Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
