Position Overview Willis Knighton Health is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to join our dedicated pediatric inpatient team at Willis Knighton South in Shreveport, LA. This role delivers comprehensive, high-quality care to pediatric patients within a collaborative, physician-led environment. Schedule and Coverage Rotation:7 days on, 7 days off. Team Structure:4-physician rotation model. Day Shifts:In-house floor management and admissions. Night Shifts:Unrestricted call from home. Newborn Nursery: Q4 weekend unassigned nursery coverage at Willis Knighton South. Paid unassigned nursery shifts at Willis Knighton Pierremont. Compensation Structure Competitive Shift + wRVU compensation on both day and night shifts. Unassigned Nursery Call compensation. Minimum of 4 days paid unassigned nursery call per month. Clinical Facilities Unit Size:24-bed dedicated pediatric inpatient unit. Environment:Modern community health system with robust subspecialty support. Key Responsibilities Manage inpatient admissions, daily rounds, and discharges. Provide expert consultations for emergency department pediatric cases. Coordinate care plans with primary pediatricians and specialists. Stabilize and prepare patients requiring transfer to intensive care. Lead pediatric resuscitation or rapid response protocols if activated. Qualifications Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Successful completion of an accredited Pediatrics residency program. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics. Eligibility for an unrestricted Louisiana medical license. Active Federal DEA registration. Current PALS and NRP certifications
