Pipefitter

• Pipefitters install and assemble piping systems tied to fluids, hydraulics, pneumatics, combustion, gas trains, and other related furnace systems.
• Most work is black pipefitting: cutting, threading, joining black pipe, and fitting components together. Stainless pipe is minimal.
• Pipe sizes generally range from approximately 1/2” up to 4”. Anything above 2” diameter is typically welded end-to-end; smaller sizes are generally joined with fittings, elbows, couplers, connectors, flanges, and reducers where needed.- Some welding experience is helpful, especially Stick or MIG, because larger pipe joints may be welded. The majority of the role is still pipefitting rather than welding, however.
