The Pipeline Clinical Learning Lead sets the clinical learning strategy and develops scientifically rigorous content for assigned J&J Innovative Medicine pipeline assets. The role translates complex and emerging evidence into clear, accurate learning experiences. Learning journeys evolve with each asset from early pipeline awareness and late-stage development through launch readiness and post-approval transition.

    What You Will Do

    • Set the learning strategy. Own the phase-appropriate clinical content and learning strategy for assigned pipeline assets, aligning priorities with evidence maturity, asset milestones, audience needs, launch readiness, and post-approval transition.
    • Translate science into learning. Develop accurate, audience-appropriate content on disease state, target biology, mechanism of action, unmet need, development strategy, trial design, efficacy, safety, patient populations, and the evolving treatment landscape.
    • Prepare commercial field teams for launch. Create accurate, balanced, and audience-appropriate clinical learning content for commercial field teams before a new product launch, coordinating with commercial learning and compliance partners.
    • Lead field medical onboarding content. Own the pipeline clinical-content component of field medical new-hire training, ensuring curricula build foundational disease-state, product, and scientific-exchange capabilities.
    • Create reusable content. Build modular source content that supports consistent development of learning modules, clinical backgrounders, facilitator resources, assessments, and field-facing tools.
    • Partner across functions. Work with clinical development, medical affairs, safety, regulatory, evidence generation, and therapeutic-area experts to understand pipeline strategy, emerging data, asset milestones, and learner needs.
    • Lead review and approval. Coordinate scientific, medical, and compliance review; reconcile feedback; document decisions; and ensure content is accurate, balanced, substantiated, and appropriate for its intended use.
    • Keep content current. Monitor literature and source data, verify references, manage versions and dependencies, and update or retire content as evidence, safety information, development strategy, and business priorities change.
    • Deliver through a matrixed model. Manage multiple assets, stakeholders, vendors, review cycles, timelines, and deliverables while providing clear scientific direction and maintaining high quality standards.

    What You Bring

    • Scientific and clinical fluency: Ability to critically evaluate full-text literature and source data; interpret efficacy, safety, subgroup, biomarker, and statistical results; and distinguish established evidence from emerging findings.
    • Drug development knowledge: Understanding of clinical development plans, trial phases, study design, endpoints, evidence generation, regulatory milestones, and launch-readiness needs.
    • Scientific writing and learning design: Ability to create clear narratives and structure complex material into progressive, engaging, and reusable learning experiences for audiences with different levels of knowledge.
    • Content quality and governance: Strong citation, annotation, version-control, and documentation practices, with experience supporting cross-functional review in a regulated environment.
    • Collaboration and influence: Ability to build trusted partnerships, clarify decisions, reconcile diverse feedback, and communicate effectively with scientific and business stakeholders.
    • Project and vendor leadership: Ability to set clear briefs, provide scientific direction, prioritize work, manage timelines and review cycles, and evaluate deliverables against quality and business requirements.
    • Adaptability and innovation: Curiosity, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset, including appropriate use of digital and AI-enabled approaches with human scientific oversight and protection of confidential information.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, learning and development, or a related field.
    • At least 7 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including clinical learning, field medical, scientific communications, medical affairs, or a related area.
    • Demonstrated experience interpreting clinical data and developing high-quality scientific content.
    • Strong scientific writing, editing, and stakeholder communication skills.
    • Experience navigating cross-functional scientific review and approval processes in a regulated environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced degree, such as a PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, MS, or MA.
    • Experience supporting pipeline assets, pre-launch or launch-readiness initiatives, or field medical onboarding.
    • Experience in Immunology or Oncology.
