Planner / Scheduler

Job Title: Planner/Scheduler
Location: Indianapolis, IN Area (Approximately 40 minutes north of Indianapolis)
Position Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: 45–50 hours per week (anticipated)
Work Arrangement: Primarily Onsite
Pay Rate: $70–$75/hr, depending on experience
Per Diem: Approximately $140/day, 7 days per week for qualified travelers
Start Date: TBD / Near-Term Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Planner / Scheduler to support large-scale industrial construction projects in the Indianapolis, IN area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction scheduling and project controls, preferably supporting pharmaceutical, semiconductor, data center, or complex industrial facilities.

This position will work closely with project management and field construction teams to develop schedules, monitor progress, and ensure projects remain on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction schedules, including milestones, critical path activities, and resource requirements.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to track construction progress.

• Identify schedule delays, evaluate impacts, and recommend corrective actions.

• Perform critical path analysis, schedule forecasting, and progress reporting.

• Support project controls activities, including schedule variance analysis and progress measurement.

• Conduct field walkdowns to validate construction progress and update schedules accordingly.

• Assist with look-ahead schedules, construction sequencing, and manpower planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction planning and scheduling experience preferred.

• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling methodologies, and project controls.

• Experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software preferred.

• Experience in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, data center, or industrial construction highly desirable.

• Background in chemical processing, oil and gas, or power generation will also be considered.

• Familiarity with process piping, mechanical systems, or complex industrial construction is a plus.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate directly with field construction teams.

• Willingness to work onsite and travel as needed.
