Our Client, an AV Manufacturing company, is looking for a Plant Issue Resolution Engineer - Body & Closure Systems for their Hayward, CA location.

Responsibilities:
- Lead triage, containment, and resolution plan of issues identified during general assembly and end-of-line testing across door systems, latches, actuators, sealing, access panels, glazing, and body structures
- Define and execute short-term containment actions, including rework plans, part quarantine, and build flow protection
- Collaborate cross-functionally to lead root cause analysis across design, process, supplier, and manufacturing domains, identify and prioritize blockers, and drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) improvements.
- Support cross-functional teams to implement permanent corrective actions (PCA) and prevent recurrence
- Support prototype builds, production trials, and engineering changes to validate fixes and improve manufacturability
- Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track issue health, closure rates, and recurrence and improve PIRT processes, including issue tracking, prioritization, and cross-functional execution
Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
- 6-8 years of experience in automotive OEMs, robotics, aviation, or other complex hardware systems within manufacturing, product engineering, or sustaining environments
- Strong understanding of vehicle across door systems, latches, actuators, sealing, access panels, glazing, and body structures
- Proven experience leading root cause analysis and corrective actions in production, manufacturing, or field environments, including new product launch support
- Strong cross functional communication and problem solving skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), production process optimization, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or EV systems
- Familiarity with tools such as 3DX (Dassault), DELMIA, SAP ME/MII, JIRA, Confluence, SQL, Python, or data visualization tools
