Plant Maintenance Technician

Scrapworks Industrial LLC is hiring a Plant Maintenance Technician in Beaumont, TX.

Our shredder plant runs on uptime. We need a hands-on maintenance tech who can weld, wire, wrench and troubleshoot. You'll keep the plant ready to run every shift and catch problems before they shut us down.

If you've kept a mill, plant or refinery running and you like fixing things right the first time, this is your shop.

Pay: $22–26/hour based on experience, plus overtime at 1.5x over 40 hours
Schedule: Full time, Monday–Friday. Saturdays, planned shutdowns and breakdown call-outs as needed

What you'll do

• Walk the plant before start-up and make sure the shredder, conveyors, magnets, eddy-current separator and screens are ready to run
• Run the preventive maintenance schedule and keep a record of every repair and part used
• Track wear on hammers, pins, grates, liners, belts and bearings and change them before they fail
• Respond to breakdowns, troubleshoot fast and get the plant back online safely
• Find the root cause of repeat failures and fix it for good
• Weld and fabricate: stick, MIG, flux-core, torch cutting, air-arc gouging and hardfacing
• Troubleshoot 480V motors, starters, VFDs, sensors and basic PLC faults
• Work on gearboxes, bearings, alignment, belt splicing and hydraulic systems
• Keep critical spare parts on hand and flag what needs ordering
• Help operators and the rest of the crew whenever they need a hand, and train our maintenance helper

What you bring

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance in a plant, mill, refinery, shredder or similar setting
• Multi-craft skills: welding, industrial electrical, mechanical and hydraulics
• Can read electrical, hydraulic and mechanical drawings
• Works safe: lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, fall protection
• Your own basic hand tools (we supply specialty and power tools)
• Available for Saturdays, overtime and call-outs
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S.

Big plus: shredder, steel mill or scrap experience · Siemens/ABB PLC · welding certifications · NFPA 70E · OSHA 30 · TWIC · bilingual Spanish/English

The work environment: Active industrial plant, indoors and outdoors in Southeast Texas heat, noise and dust. Lifting up to 70 lbs, climbing ladders and platforms, and working at heights and in confined spaces with proper safety gear.
