Position Summary - Plant Manager (Poultry Processing Plant): The Plant Manager oversees all functional operations of a poultry processing facility, ensuring efficient production, safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across all shifts and departments. Key Responsibilities:
Manage all functional areas in a poultry processing plant including production, maintenance, safety, shipping, receiving, sanitation, scheduling, and quality.
Oversee three production shifts to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and product output.
Lead and mentor department managers to build strong leadership skills and workforce capability.
Resolve issues related to product quality, incoming materials, and outgoing shipments.
Review cost, performance, and efficiency data to identify improvement opportunities.
Compile and analyze monthly expense and efficiency reports.
Promote Total Quality Management (TQM) principles among plant employees.
Approve and execute all plant-related capital improvement projects.
Facilitate Talent Mapping, Succession Planning, and Retention Programs.
Ensure strict compliance with food safety, product quality, and regulatory standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production and operational processes.
Identify operational challenges and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve them.
Maintain excellent communication within teams and with senior leadership.
Travel required: approximately 6 to 11 trips annually.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in poultry manufacturing (preferably Tray Pack operations).
At least 6 years of leadership experience managing large or complex facilities.
Experience working in unionized environments and leading union teams.
Strong understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop new or junior leaders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Working knowledge of SAP or similar manufacturing systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
