Chemours is seeking a Plant Manager to join our growing Manufacturing team! This position will report directly to the APM Vice President of Operations at our Louisville, KY location.
The Plant Manager is accountable for the overall performance of the manufacturing site, and responsible to direct and enable the site team to execute operations strategy to meet the business and customer needs. This includes leveraging knowledge of industry best practices, systems modeling, financial analysis and collaborating cross-functionally (e.g., Business, R&D, legal, Procurement) to solve problems and create opportunities to improve the site and business performance and profitability and enable best-in-class service to internal and external customers.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, technology, and supporting manufacturing functions.
Ensure safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operations while maintaining the site's license to operate.
Drive reliable production performance to meet volume, quality, cost, and customer delivery objectives.
Foster a safety-first, high-performance culture where employees are engaged, accountable, and empowered to succeed.
Lead workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and performance management initiatives.
Oversee and continuously improve key performance metrics, including Safety, Environmental, Quality, Cost, Uptime, and Cash.
Identify and execute opportunities to increase production capacity and improve operational efficiency.
Lead plant turnarounds, maintenance strategies, and process improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and sustainability.
Ensure successful execution of capital projects, delivering results on time and within budget.
Build strong relationships with community stakeholders and cross-functional partners to support business objectives and long-term site success.
The following is required for this role:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
10+ years of experience in operations / manufacturing (chemical industry preferred) including leadership in high hazard process environments.
Proven success leading safe, compliant operations with strong expertise in EHS, Process Safety Management (PSM), regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement/Lean methodologies.
Demonstrated experience managing plant operations, budgets, cost performance, and supply chain activities, with a track record of delivering operational excellence and business results.
Strong technical and operational knowledge of continuous manufacturing processes, with experience driving process optimization, innovation, and operational improvements.
Collaborative people leader with experience working across global, matrixed organizations, partnering effectively with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, commercial, R&D, and finance teams while developing high-performing and inclusive teams.
