Plant Modeling Lead Engineer

Leads plant modeling and 3D design activities for industrial facilities, including process plants, chemical plants, refineries, and energy projects. Oversees the development and coordination of 3D plant models, piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and engineering design deliverables. Collaborates with process, piping, civil, structural, and electrical teams to ensure design accuracy, resolve model clashes, meet project specifications, and deliver projects according to schedule, budget, and applicable engineering standards.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or Controls Engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in the design, analysis, or testing of 12V/48V electrical systems or components.
• Proficiency in Synopsys Saber Simulator, MAST modeling language, and electrical data analysis tools, including MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape.
• Experience developing models for Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) simulations.
• Experience with Functional Mockup Units (FMUs) and co-simulation.
• Hands-on experience with Charge Balance, Fail-Operational, Bus Integrity, Short Circuit, and other 12V/48V component-sizing simulations.
• Strong foundation in:

• Coordinate with process, piping, mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical engineering teams.
• Perform model reviews, clash detection, and clash resolution to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Review piping routes, equipment locations, access clearances, and maintenance requirements.
• Establish modeling standards, procedures, and quality control practices.
• Monitor project schedules, deliverables, resource allocation, and modeling progress.
• Resolve technical issues and provide guidance to designers and modelers.
• Participate in design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination meetings, and client discussions.
• Support engineering changes and update 3D models based on revised drawings and project requirements.
• Ensure accurate extraction of isometric drawings, general arrangement drawings, and material-related deliverables.
• Mentor junior designers and promote best practices in plant modeling and design coordination.
• Support construction teams with model reviews, field verification, and resolution of design-related issues.
