United Dairy is currently seeking a 2nd shift Sanitation Operator. Sanitation Operators ensure that the equipment is clean, sanitized and ready to make our crave-able, delicious ice cream and frozen novelties. Sanitation Operators are responsible for disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing, and re-assembling all manufacturing, storage, and delivery equipment used in the facility for producing ice cream.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Complete tasks outlined in the master, daily and weekly sanitation schedule or as directly assigned by the QA/ sanitation supervisor and or lead.
- Perform all duties following company safety procedures and guidelines with focus on zero injuries.
- Utilize, store away and measure all chemicals while utilizing the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow all Lock Out Tag Out procedures (LOTO).
- Must be able to assess area after cleaning to ensure sanitation is complete
- Inspect each other’s work to make sure work is complete.
- Must be able to partake in and complete the chemical training program.
- Must be able to assess reoccurring sanitation issues, and present actions to mitigate issues.

- Scrape, wash, and sanitize plant equipment as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule – Sanitation is a totally inclusive process for the entire plant.
- May help train new hires.
- Follow and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Work as a member of a team.
- Maintains high activity/productivity level. Operates with sense of urgency, efficiency, effectiveness and determination over extended periods of time an under cold, indoor environment.
- Adhere to all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
- Familiarity with GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety and sanitation (i.e. HACCP, AIB, SQF)
- Ability to work with limited supervision is required, must be a decision maker.
- Proven ability to work independently while performing a variety of sanitation and production tasks
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug screening
- Associate needs to be a Self-starter, gets involved quickly, takes on difficult tasks and takes initiative to achieve goals beyond what is required.
- Candidate must be able to lift heavy objects repeatedly.
- Previous experience in Food Manufacturing, Ice Cream Manufacturing (Preferred) but not required.
- Ability to handle constant physical workload.
- Ability to prioritize.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment.
- Read, write and communicate in English.
- Be on time and willing to perform some overtime when necessary.
- Must have dependable transportation to get from and to the job.
- Be able to mentor the next team member
- Able to work with computers
Work Schedule:
- 8-hour shift – Maybe Extended as Needed
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Physical Expectations
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders, when required.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
