Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Plate Mounter for a third-shift, temp-to-hire manufacturing opportunity in Pittsburg, Kansas. This position is responsible for preparing, positioning, and mounting printing plates according to job specifications to support accurate and consistent production.

The ideal candidate has previous printing, prepress, plate mounting, or manufacturing experience and is comfortable following detailed work instructions while maintaining precise alignment and quality standards.

Previous plate mounting experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour or higher, depending on experience.

Required Experience & Skills

Previous printing, prepress, plate mounting, or manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to read and follow detailed production instructions and maintain accuracy when positioning and mounting printing plates.

Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to identify alignment or quality concerns.

Good problem-solving skills, dependable attendance, and the ability to work independently or as part of a manufacturing team are important. Candidates must also be available to work the assigned third-shift schedule.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare and mount printing plates according to established job specifications and production requirements. Position and align plates accurately to support consistent printing and manufacturing operations.

Review work instructions before beginning setup, verify plate positioning, and inspect completed mounting work for quality and accuracy.

Identify and report alignment issues, damaged materials, or other production concerns to appropriate team members.

Maintain clean and organized work areas, follow established production procedures, and comply with all company safety requirements.

Perform additional plate mounting and manufacturing support duties as assigned.

Printing Plate Preparation & Mounting

Candidates will prepare printing plates for use in production.

Responsibilities include reviewing job specifications, preparing applicable materials, positioning plates, and completing mounting procedures according to established instructions.

Accuracy throughout the mounting process is essential to maintaining consistent production quality and minimizing errors.

Plate Alignment & Setup Verification

Candidates must be comfortable performing detailed alignment and verification tasks.

Responsibilities include checking plate positioning, confirming proper alignment, reviewing completed setups, and identifying discrepancies before materials advance to production.

Strong attention to detail is important to ensure plates are mounted accurately and consistently.

Quality Inspection

Inspect printing plates, materials, and completed mounting setups for visible defects, positioning errors, or other quality concerns.

Follow applicable quality standards, communicate discrepancies promptly, and help prevent incorrectly prepared materials from advancing through production.

Production Instructions & Documentation

Read and follow detailed work instructions, job specifications, and established plate mounting procedures.

Candidates should be able to organize assigned work, follow production priorities, and communicate questions or concerns when clarification is needed.

Workplace Safety & Organization

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation throughout the shift.

Handle printing plates and related materials carefully, follow established safety procedures, and report equipment or workplace concerns promptly.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a Plate Mounter, Printing Press Assistant, Prepress Technician, or Manufacturing Associate is preferred.

Experience with printing plate preparation, plate alignment, production setup, quality inspection, or related manufacturing processes is valuable.

Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise instructions are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Candidates should be comfortable bending, reaching, handling materials, and performing repetitive production tasks as required.

Work takes place in an industrial manufacturing environment involving printing plates, production materials, and related equipment.

All company safety procedures and required personal protective equipment must be followed.

Schedule Requirements

3rd Shift

Candidates must be available to work the assigned overnight schedule and maintain dependable attendance.
