THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team within AMD's Developer Experience organization. The team builds and supports the platforms, automation, and developer tools that enable engineering teams to build, test, and deliver products efficiently.

In this role, you will work with Kubernetes, GitHub, CI/CD, Perforce, Artifactory, Linux, and other infrastructure technologies. You will help improve platform reliability, automate engineering workflows, and create a better experience for developers across AMD. This position offers broad technical exposure and the opportunity to work with engineering teams across the organization.

THE PERSON:

You are a motivated and collaborative engineer who enjoys solving problems across software, infrastructure, and developer tooling. You take ownership of your work, communicate effectively, and are eager to learn new technologies. You are comfortable working independently while knowing when to seek guidance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support and enhance Kubernetes-based platforms and containerized workloads.
• Develop automation and reusable tools using Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
• Build and maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, GitHub Runners, Jenkins, or comparable tools.
• Support developer platforms including GitHub, Perforce, Artifactory, and Harbor.
• Troubleshoot issues across Linux, containers, servers, and CI/CD environments.
• Improve platform monitoring, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Build self-service solutions that improve developer productivity.
• Collaborate with software, infrastructure, platform, and security teams.
• Explore opportunities to apply AI-assisted technologies to engineering and automation workflows.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and work outside of an immediate area of expertise.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container technologies.
• Experience with Linux systems and infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub Actions, GitHub Runners, or comparable CI/CD tools.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, Go, Bash, or a similar language.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or related automation tools.
• Experience with Perforce, Artifactory, Harbor, monitoring, or observability tools is a plus.
• Exposure to AI/ML, GenAI, or AI-assisted development is a plus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
