Summary
Our client, a global leader in advanced autonomous and robotic solutions across multiple industries, is seeking a PLM/PDM Administrator to own and optimize the business processes within its PLM environment and the CAD-to-PLM-to-production data flow.
This role will establish repeatable, well-controlled processes for engineering data, configuration management, and engineering change workflows. The initial focus will be on controlled CAD and drawing release from Onshape and Altium into Arena PLM, along with ECR/ECO workflow support across engineering, sourcing, and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering, quality, manufacturing, software, documentation, and other functional leaders to translate business requirements into PLM workflows, approval routing, lifecycle states, item structures, and attributes.
- Configure, administer, and continuously improve PLM processes as business requirements evolve.
- Manage users, roles, permissions, and access to controlled or export-restricted data.
- Own the CAD-to-PLM data flow, including BOM extraction, item/assembly mapping, CAD and drawing release, revision control, and synchronization of released data.
- Establish and maintain document and drawing control, including numbering, metadata, title blocks, controlled PDF releases, redlines, revisions, and obsolete documents.
- Configure and support ECR, ECO, deviation, impact analysis, where-used, and effectivity processes.
- Manage the flow of item, BOM, and change data between PLM, CAD, ERP, and other systems to ensure manufacturing, purchasing, and suppliers use accurate, released information.
- Perform data migration, bulk imports, data cleanup, and reporting related to change cycle time, release aging, and data quality.
- Ensure PLM processes align with quality, configuration management, and design control requirements; support internal and external audits with appropriate system records.
- Train users and maintain administrator-level documentation of PLM configuration, workflows, and processes.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering, information systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on PLM administration experience.
- 3+ years of experience administering and configuring Arena PLM, including workflows, approvals, lifecycle states, item/BOM structures, and permissions. Comparable enterprise PLM experience may be considered, but Arena expertise is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing the CAD-to-PLM data path, including BOM extraction, file release, revision control, and engineering documentation.
- Working knowledge of engineering change management, including ECR/ECO processes and item lifecycle management.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment where PLM data supports purchasing, manufacturing, and supplier activities.
- Understanding of design control and quality management requirements such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, or IATF 16949.
- Strong cross-functional communication and process leadership skills, with the ability to drive adoption across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Onshape, including released CAD data, BOM structures, release workflows, and the Onshape-Arena integration.
- Experience with Altium, including ECAD libraries, variants, BOMs, documentation packages, and PCB data management.
- Experience integrating PLM with SAP or other ERP systems for item master, BOM, and engineering change data.
- Prior experience in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or program management in addition to PLM administration.
- Experience establishing new PLM processes from the ground up.
- Exposure to internal audits, CAPA, configuration management, or EIA-649.
