JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: General Maintenance
LOCATION: Mercer County Schools
DIVISION: Support Services
DEPARTMENT (FUNCTIONAL AREA): Maintenance Department
RESPONSIBILITY OR PURPOSE (NARRATIVE): To perform general repair of
equipment and maintenance of buildings in the school district.
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director of Facilities and Maintenance
REGULAR DUTIES (LIST IN GENERAL, MAJOR FUNCTIONS):
Performs routine manual tasks in any operation of the county school system such
as:
a. Care of grounds
b. Landscaping
c. Asphalting
d. Hauling
e. Roofing
f. Painting
g. Mowing
Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
SPECIAL OR OCCASIONAL (COLLATERAL) DUTIES:
Truck driver - Class A CDL
Clerk
Glazier helper
Emergency situations as they occur
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Tools to be assigned by, and returned to, immediate supervisor
Employee to be responsible for replacement of such tools due to loss or theft

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION (STATE EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS):
Background in maintenance work and procedures
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license
Valid Class A license
