Plumbing Design Engineer
Design from concept through construction, collaborating with architects, project managers, field teams, and fellow engineers. You'll use AutoCAD and Revit, coordinate with disciplines, and contribute to BIM coordination, code compliance, and design-quality improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3+ years designing plumbing or building systems in an MEP environment.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or active licensure pursuit is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design plumbing systems for multifamily and other complex building projects from schematic design through construction documents.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical drawings, and construction documentation.
- Develop and coordinate plumbing system models using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
- Participate in BIM coordination, project meetings, and design reviews.
- Research plumbing materials, equipment, and system solutions that support project objectives.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and support construction administration activities.
- Apply plumbing codes, engineering standards, and sustainable design principles to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Contribute to improving engineering standards, design quality, and project delivery processes.
