Responsibilities:The Point of Care (POC) Coordinator supports POC testing throughout the Bassett Healthcare Network. Serves as technical consultant to help troubleshoot POC testing and computer issues. Trains staff in POC testing and assures staff maintain annual competency. Performs site visits to ensure sites are meeting POC regulatory requirements. Develops and monitors quality control for POC testing. Validates and implements new POC testing methods, equipment, and reagents. Manages supply chain for POC testing supplies. Maintains POC testing equipment and instruments.
Maintains organized records of training, competency, site visits, and technical issues. Remains up to date on POC regulations, manufacturer’s instructions, and best practices. Builds and maintains positive relationships with POC testing sites leadership and staff. Supports and/or leads improvement projects to optimize quality and efficiency. May include other duties as assigned.

Experience:
Required - Minimum 2 years experience in standard laboratory methodologies (work or school)
License/ Certification:
Preferred - Clinical Laboratory Technician License from New York State Education Department – or licensure eligible with a limited permit or limited license
