We're looking for a Police Officer 1/2/3 to join our University Police Department. The incumbent performs responsible and physically demanding armed police, law enforcement, and protective services duties by patrolling LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health and surrounding properties. This role serves as the vehicle patrol officer on a shift. Primary liaison with local police patrols and sheriff's deputies concerning incidents happening on or adjacent LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health property during the shift.

Minimum Qualifications

No experience or training is required.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license.

Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.

An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as the vehicle patrol officer on a shift.
  • Primary liaison with local police patrols and sheriff's deputies concerning incidents happening on or adjacent LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health property during the shift.
  • Conducts DWI and reckless driving traffic enforcement.
  • Backs up City Police and Sheriff's Patrols responding to criminal activity adjacent LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health property.

Position-Specific Details:

Full-time position: Up to 40 hours.

Location: Shreveport, Louisiana

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
