Police Officer (Part-Time)

Description

The Part-time Officer may be assigned work patrol, traffic enforcement, special events, and other duties as necessary for the department.

The Part-time Officer is required to work 1-12 hour shift a week. With approval or based on need the department may approval additional hours.

Maypearl Police Department requires all officers to qualify twice a year, the ammunition is provided by the department. Part-time Officers are required to qualify with our department.

The Part-time Officer is allowed to work traffic control extra jobs, after completion of department training, or sooner at the discretion of the Lieutenant. The Lieutenant shall be informed of each job.

The Part-time Officer will be provided, a uniform, and duty gear. As available firearm and magazines are issued on request, or the Officer can use their own approved firearm. Patrol rifle, shotgun, and taser are available for use if certified.

Part-time Officers are held to the same standards of professionalism as a full-time officer.

Requirements

• Must hold an active TCOLE peace officer license.
• Must have an Intermediate Peace Officer Proficiency Certification or higher.
• In lieu of an Intermediate, all TCOLE intermediate coursework completed and
  • 1200+ TCOLE training hours or
  • an associate degree.
• Must have a valid Class C Texas Driver License.
