The McNeese University Police Department has two (2) vacancies for Police Sergeant.

The Police Sergeant is is a supervisory law enforcement position and serves as a member of the McNeese University Police Department providing a full range of police services to protect life and property, with an emphasis on law enforcement, crime prevention ensuring safety to the campus population.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of law enforcement experience.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience. The maximum substitution allowed is 60 semester hours which substitutes for two years of experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license.
Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification may be required.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Appointment Type: The vacancies are being announced as classified positions and are open to all qualified applicants and may be filled as a probationary or promotional appointment.

Compensation: Special Entrance Pay Rate
Work Schedule: The person in this position may work rotating 12-hour shifts, and is subject to overtime, working weekends, holidays, shift work, and 24-hour call.
