The Polysomnographer will perform sleep studies to diagnose sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless legs syndrome.Main DutiesPrepare patients for overnight sleep studies.Explain the sleep-study procedure and answer patient questions.Apply and monitor sensors/electrodes that measure:Brain activity (EEG)Eye movements (EOG)Muscle activity (EMG)Heart activity (ECG)Breathing and oxygen levelsBody movements and sleep positionMonitor patients throughout the night and recognize abnormal events.Operate polysomnography and related sleep-monitoring equipment.Troubleshoot equipment or signal problems.Document and score sleep-study data according to established guidelines.Perform or assist with CPAP/BiPAP titration when ordered.Maintain patient safety and comfort during the study.Prepare accurate reports/data for physicians or sleep specialists.Education: Licensed Professional - RRT/RN/LPN/ Polysomnographer - willingness to become RPSGT with in one year of date of hire.Experience: 1 year experience in a Sleep Lab preferred but not mandatory.
