Job Summary

The Porter is responsible for transporting guests and their luggage across property, maintaining the side-by-side (SxS) utility vehicle used for daily operations, and providing a friendly, professional welcome throughout the guest experience. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth arrivals, departures, and day-to-day guest transportation at Borealis Basecamp.

All team members are expected to maintain a team-first mindset, assist across departments when needed, and provide a positive and professional presence when interacting with guests.

Key Responsibilities
  •  Unplug (seasonal) your SxS for the day and do a daily check
  • Oil, tires, coolant, anything broken or leaking of any fluids on the ground
  •  Meet at 9:00 AM at the front desk to receive the report for the day
  • This paper will have your Room Numbers with departure and arrival times for the day.
  •  Please note that occasionally these will change
  •  Must have a fully charged Walkie on you
  • You will need to alert the front desk when you go to lunch.
  •  Transport guests during the day to different locations on property
  •  Front desk, Lat65, Adventure Center, and their accommodation
  • Put luggage in the Luggage room for those who cannot check-in early or leaving later in the day.
  • You will meet the drivers here for the luggage
  • Make sure bag tags are on and taken to correct room
  • Welcome guests upon arrival in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist with guest arrivals and departures by transporting luggage and ensuring luggage is secure at all times.
  • Assist with guest inquiries and provide information about the services at Borealis Basecamp
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management to support hotel operation
  • There are times you will be asked to help with different projects if you are not too busy with guests
  •  Follow all hotel policies, health and safety procedures, and security protocols.
  • Provide courteous, efficient, and professional service to ensure a positive guest experience
  • Check in with front desk before checking out for the day.
  •  Put SxS back in designated spot and plug in (seasonal)

Key Skills

•       Ability to lift over 50 lbs
•       Communicate with adventures team and front desk over walkie
•       Drive SxS safely and always 8 mph on property
•       Works well alone and with others

Compensation & Benefits


End-of-Season Bonus

  A $1.50 per hour bonus is paid for every hour worked throughout the season to employees who complete the full season. Employees who leave prior to April 12 are not eligible for this bonus.


Employee Housing

  On-site housing is available for $10.50 per day. Rooms are double or triple occupancy. Amenities include shared common areas with TV, Wi-Fi, dining space, and an exercise area.
  Housing also includes private bathrooms, laundry facilities, staff-prepared lunch and dinner, and a self-serve continental breakfast (oatmeal, cereal, fruit, etc.).
