Job Overview:

The Porter/Janitorial is responsible for cleaning projects requiring advanced training and demonstrated skill. The incumbent will inspect work performed in assigned building/property(s) and submit reports to the Supervisor. The duties may be indoors to maintain the interior of the community, outdoors to maintain the exterior, or both.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance duties as assigned.
• Maintain community common areas, including the clubhouse, restrooms, fitness center, amenity spaces, hallways, and other shared facilities to ensure a clean and welcoming environment.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, sanitize, and perform routine floor care throughout the community.
• Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, countertops, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces as needed.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring all paper products, soap, and other supplies are replenished and stocked.
• Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and maintain cleanliness throughout all common areas.
• Assist with litter removal and grounds cleanup at clubhouses, parks, walking trails, and other community spaces.
• Maintain pool and recreational areas by removing debris, wiping down tables and chairs, emptying trash receptacles, and cleaning pool restrooms.
• Monitor inventory and maintain adequate levels of cleaning and sanitation supplies for assigned areas.
• Handle, store, and utilize cleaning chemicals and solutions in compliance with OSHA standards and company safety requirements.
• Adhere to all community security procedures, safety protocols, and established operating standards.
• Identify and promptly report maintenance issues, property damage, safety hazards, or other concerns observed during daily inspections and cleaning activities.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, appearance, and presentation throughout the community at all times.
• Perform special projects, tasks, and other related duties as assigned.
• Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards and respond to all calls by the end of the next business day.
• Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.

Skills - Qualifications:

• Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Experience/Knowledge/Abilities: 1-2 previous custodial experience preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Special Requirements: Ability to lift 50 - 100 lbs following appropriate safety procedures; complete all required forms. Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner. Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 8 ft). Regular and predictable attendance.

As a full-time non-exempt associate, you will be eligible for benefits to include plans for dental and vision. In addition, you will be eligible for time off benefits, paid holidays, and a 401k with company match. Occasional travel may be required to attend training and other company functions.

Compensation: $16 - $18 / hour
