Join a True Blue Team of Restaurant Professionals!
Culver’s is hiring a Porter to efficiently prepare our restaurant to open for the day, both inside and out. We’re looking for someone resourceful and independent, able to determine priorities, with a genuine desire to make sure restaurant standards are exceeded so every guest has an outstanding experience. As a Porter, you’ll deliver friendly hospitality while meticulously ensuring maintenance duties are completed and equipment is properly maintained — setting the team up for a smooth, successful opening every day.
What You’ll Do
• Check over the restaurant from the previous close to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Maintain the appearance of the building exterior and grounds, including landscaping and snow removal.
• Coordinate job duties with other opening team members to ensure efficient preparation for opening.
• Accurately take temperatures of required foods upon delivery, documenting results on the Quality Control/Safe Food Checklist.
• Put food orders away in the cooler following proper stock rotation protocols.
• Rotate stock in the cooler, freezer, and dry storage area using the First In–First Out method, monitoring shelf life and code dates.
• Maintain a basic working knowledge of the operation of all restaurant equipment.
• Complete scheduled equipment maintenance safely and correctly, according to the equipment maintenance calendar.
• Complete daily duties to be ready to work in the kitchen during the lunch shift, per restaurant if applicable.
• Report any incomplete closing tasks to the opening manager.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by the manager on duty.
What We’re Looking For
• A genuine smile!
• Good communication skills.
• Dependability.
• 1–2 years of restaurant experience preferred.
• Must meet federal age requirements for the position; Culver’s recommends a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Able to work independently.
• Reading and writing skills required.
Physical Requirements
• Able to climb up and down a ladder to a height of 25 feet.
• Able to sweep, mop, and scrub using cleaning materials.
• Able to frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Able to reach, bend, and clean surfaces regularly.
• Able to work frequently in hot, cold, and damp environments.
• Job duties are split, with about 50 percent inside and 50 percent outside.
What You’ll Gain
• Health, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance.
• Vacation accrual.
• 401(k) with company match.
• Competitive wages.
• On-the-job training.
