GROUNDSKEEPER - PART TIME (SAN MARCOS, TX) Salary: $17.00 per hour Job Summary: The Groundskeeper is responsible for assisting the Maintenance team in the day-to-day duties involved with maintaining the cleanliness of our property. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties & Responsibilities: - Maintains and supervises the pool area
- Ensures daily interior cleanliness of grounds and buildings by performing general cleaning tasks in common areas, such as cleaning up spills, removing garbage, etc.
- Handles daily pick up of grounds, making sure they are trash free
- Prepares vacant units for occupancy, removing all items left behind and leave units in broom swept condition.
- Cleans office and other common areas as needed.
- Performs exterior building and premises cleaning and basic maintenance, including exterior walls parking lots and structures, walkways and paths, gardens and lawns, outdoor furnishings, pools, curbs, gutters, exterior hallways and stairwells.
- Performs light maintenance activities including replacing light bulbs, air filters, blinds, shades and other items as directed.
- Reports any unsafe conditions, especially in the pool area and potential security breaches on the grounds to the manager/supervisor
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities: - Demonstrate a thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Exhibit a highly motivated and service-oriented approach, characterized by a strong work ethic to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
- Display flexibility and willingness to work all shifts/hours as needed, with the capability of working additional hours as needed.
- Poses the ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
- Display excellent interpersonal skills with a polite and courteous demeanor toward staff, customers, clients, and property visitors.
- Demonstrate proficiency using large industrial cleaning equipment, including a buffing machine for wood floors and other finished surfaces, as well as large industrial vacuum cleaners.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
- Ability to understand and identify necessary repairs.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
Education & Experience: - High School diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements: - Due to the physical nature of certain required tasks, must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
