Support Student Success Inside and Beyond the Classroom
Our organization is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to support students in an Illinois school district throughout the 2026–2027 school year. This opportunity is a strong fit for a social work professional who is passionate about student advocacy and helping young people navigate challenges that may impact their learning, behavior, relationships, attendance, and overall well-being.
What You’ll Do
As part of the school support team, you’ll provide social-emotional services tailored to individual student needs while helping identify concerns and develop effective strategies for addressing them. Key responsibilities include:
Provide individual and group social-emotional support.
Develop and implement appropriate student interventions.
Monitor student progress and document services provided.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning.
Connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources.
Identify barriers affecting student learning, behavior, attendance, or participation.
Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service professionals.
Requirements
LSW or LCSW preferred, based on district requirements.
School-based experience with children or adolescents preferred.
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
Familiarity with student support services and school-based resources.
Knowledge of social-emotional development and behavioral interventions.
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement.
