Postdoctoral Research Associate in Neuroscience
The Attention, Arousal, & Aging (AAA) Lab at Purdue University is recruiting a post-doctoral scholar to join a collaborative research program under the supervision of Principal Investigator, Dr. Andy Kim. Research in the AAA Lab focuses on developing and evaluating interventions to improve cognitive aging and outcomes associated with neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Alzheimer's disease). The successful candidate will contribute to studies that identify mechanisms that accelerate cognitive aging, develop novel interventions to improve cognition, and identify cognitive/behavioral biomarkers associated with increased risk of transitioning to prodromal stages of Alzheimer's disease (e.g., mild cognitive impairment). Competitive applicants will have a background in neuroscience or cognitive psychology, as well as expertise in one or more of the following areas: electroencephalography data collection and analyses, MRI data collection and analyses, and multivariate/multimodal statistical approaches.
The post-doctoral scholar will have opportunities to conduct studies with behavioral, eye tracking, EEG, MRI, and physiology data, lead peer-reviewed publications, present at conferences, mentor undergraduate and graduate researchers, as well as apply for external funding (e.g., F32, K99/R00), if desired. Candidates will be joining a growing lab that has substantial opportunities to contribute novel ideas and pilot research directions. The candidate will also participate in professional development activities offered through the College of Health and Human Sciences and receive individualized mentorship for career goals.
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week appointment. Funding is guaranteed for up to two years, contingent upon satisfactory performance during the first year. Continued employment beyond two years may be possible, subject to funding availability. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
