We are particularly interested in candidates with strong motivation, scientific curiosity, and a desire to develop independent research directions. Applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply. Candidate with expertise in immunology, virology, or host-pathogen interactions The candidate will investigate how HSV-1 infection activates innate immune signaling in different cell types and tissues. Relevant experience may include Viral infection models, especially herpesvirus or other DNA/RNA virus systems; antiviral immunity and inflammatory responses; Mouse models of viral infection or tissue inflammation; Human iPSC-derived models; Organoid or 3D culture systems. Candidates with experience in viral pathogenesis, neuroinflammation, mucosal immunity, or immune-cell function are especially encouraged to apply. Candidate with expertise in cell death signaling, molecular biology, or biochemistry The candidate will study the molecular mechanisms of the related inflammation pathway. Relevant experience may include Protein-protein interaction studies, Immunoprecipitation, western blotting, qPCR, cloning, and mutagenesis; mechanistic studies of signaling pathways; Protein biochemistry or structure-function analysis. Candidates with strong molecular biology and mechanistic research training are highly suitable for this position. Candidate with expertise in cancer biology, tumor immunology, or oncolytic virus therapy The candidate will contribute to projects investigating engineered HSV-1 as an oncolytic virus platform and exploring how necroptosis and inflammatory cell death reshape the tumor microenvironment. Relevant experience may include Tumor models and cancer immunology; Oncolytic virus therapy T cell, macrophages, dendritic cell, or myeloid cell biology; Immunotherapy, immune checkpoint blockade, or combination therapy studies. Candidates interested in translational cancer research and virus-based immunotherapy are strongly encouraged to apply. The PI will provide all training as well as support in applying for extramural and intramural postdoctoral fellowships. Salary will adhere to NIH guidelines.
