Position Summary

The postdoctoral researcher will join Professor Ghassemi's group and collaborate with Dr. Kundan Thind and colleagues at Henry Ford Health. Responsibilities include developing structured representations of 3D anatomy; integrating these representations with AI reasoning models; evaluating performance on radiation therapy planning tasks against text-only and vision-only baselines; analyzing uncertainty and failure modes; and preparing research code, documentation, and manuscripts.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Doctorate in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, or a related field, completed by the appointment start date.

Minimum Requirements

Research experience in machine learning or AI; proficiency in Python and a deep learning framework; experience designing and evaluating computational models; and demonstrated scientific writing and collaboration skills.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with medical imaging, graph representations, or language models; familiarity with uncertainty estimation and model reliability; and experience collaborating with clinical researchers.
