Job role: Power BI Developer

Duration: 6-month+

Location: Los Angeles, CA onsite

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Power BI Developer for a 6-month+ engagement. This role is open because the organization currently has only one Power BI resource and needs additional support to build high-visibility executive dashboards.

This person will work closely with the Manager of Analytics and COO to create dashboards that will be presented to the executive board. The ideal candidate is a Power BI expert with strong SQL and Excel skills and experience working with benefits, HR, claims, or cost-related data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain executive-level dashboards in Power BI
• Build reporting solutions focused on benefits and HR-related data
• Analyze and compare data related to claims, costs, cost per member, and cost per claim
• Partner with leadership stakeholders, including the Manager of Analytics and COO
• Translate business requirements into clear, impactful dashboard visualizations
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability for executive presentations
• Use SQL to extract, manipulate, and validate data from source systems
• Leverage Excel for advanced data analysis and reporting support

Required Skills:

• Deep expertise with Power BI tools
• Strong SQL experience
• Advanced Excel skills, including:
• Power Query
• Pivot Tables
• Formulas/sums
• Experience building dashboards for executive or leadership audiences
• Strong analytical and data validation skills

Nice to Have:

• Tableau experience
• Industry experience related to benefits, HR, claims, or healthcare-type cost analysis
