Powertrain Failure Analysis Technician

At Dynamic Manufacturing, Inc., you’ll turn curiosity into solutions. Picture your morning: you clock in, pull up the day’s queue of automatic transmissions, transfer cases, and torque converters that didn’t pass our rigorous tests, and get to work uncovering the why. You’ll dissect issues, validate fixes, and collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams so every remanufactured unit that leaves our floor is worthy of our name.

What you’ll do day-to-day

• Troubleshoot and repair products that fail testing procedures, from symptom to verified resolution.
• Inspect and process warranty returns, documenting condition and root cause.
• Consistently and accurately log all findings in the required databases for full traceability.
• Communicate results and recommendations with your supervisor and cross-functional partners in production, engineering, and quality.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace, including tools, test equipment, and computers.
• Stay current on product updates and process changes.
• Follow all required safety guidelines and procedures—every time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Trade/Technical School education preferred.

Skills to succeed

Required

• Confident, safe use of basic hand tools, including torque wrenches and pneumatic tools.
• Basic computer proficiency (mouse/keyboard, operating systems, email).
• Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Lift up to 50 lbs without assistance as needed.
• Work independently and stay self-motivated.
• Follow work instructions, support documents, and technical manuals accurately.
• Learn multiple work areas and move between them as work requires.

Preferred

• Bilingual (Spanish/English).
• Microsoft Office experience (especially Access and Excel).
• Automotive, machinery, or electronics repair background.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
• Use of multimeters/ohmmeters.
• Proficiency with measuring tools (calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, etc.).
• Previous automatic transmission repair experience.
• Willingness to train and upskill as needed.

Schedule

1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
