Practice Manager - Spine & Pain Clinic (Mercy South, St. Louis, Missouri)

Step into a key leadership role at Mercy South's Spine & Pain Clinic, where you'll drive both clinical excellence and an exceptional patient experience. As Practice Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of a dynamic, patient‑focused practice, guiding a dedicated clinical and administrative team that supports our providers and delivers compassionate, high‑quality care to the community.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, Full Time, Exempt

 

Position Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or GED. Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience: Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office required.

Preferred Experience: 2 or more years experience in a physician or medical office preferred. Lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Preferred Knowledge: Knowledge of managed care billing practices preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire clinic staff, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations, optimal team performance, and a supportive work environment.
  • Champion operational excellence by ensuring all clinical, technical, and administrative processes align with Mercy's standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner closely with physicians to support their workflow, enhance satisfaction, and remove barriers to outstanding patient care.
  • Elevate the patient experience through intentional process improvements, service‑first culture building, and a commitment to quality.
  • Drive performance outcomes in areas such as coworker engagement, patient satisfaction, clinical quality, and financial stewardship.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership-including the Director or VP of Operations-to advance strategic initiatives and strengthen overall business performance.
  • Embrace continuous improvement, taking ownership of opportunities that enhance efficiency, care delivery, and team success.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 185 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who wanted to help the poor women and children of Dublin. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill her dreams. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to poor women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, the first religious order not bound to the rules of the cloister, whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. By the time Catherine died in 1841, there were convents in Ireland and England, and in 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States.
