These are our five-year goals:Goal #1: HSYC implements Conscious Discipline to support the social emotional needs/ self-regulation of the HSYC community.Goal #2: All children, regardless of family situation, will have strong attendance that will carryover after HSYC participation.Goal #3: HSYC will be known for providing high quality, comprehensive services for school and life readiness through a unique two-generation approach.Goal #4: Hire and retain individuals who are committed to the true HSYC mission and philosophy and who understand the need to be trauma-informed and relationship-based in an early childhood program.GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Responsible for leading classroom teaching team in preparation of three- to- five-year-old children socially, emotionally, and academically for kindergarten. Create lesson plans, observe and document child progress, and complete all mandated screenings and assessments. Hold home visits and child goal conferences to support parents as their children's first and life-long teachers, to keep teacher and parent on the same page, and ensure goals are on track for child/family success. Supervision of Teacher Assistant and Classroom Aide, substitutes and volunteers.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:AA/AS, BA/BS or MA/MS degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or other equivalent degree, REQUIREDExperience working with preschool children in a classroom settingExperience working with high risk families is preferredExcellent benefits with a generous leave package, employer-paid medical, employer-paid dental, employer-paid vision, and retirement with up to a 7% match.
