About the Role:

Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum that support early childhood development
- Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment for all students
- Monitor and assess student progress, documenting developmental milestones
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student growth and behavior
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and center policies
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
Requirements:
- CDA, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a lead teacher or childcare role required
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and early childhood curriculum
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a background check per Tennessee childcare licensing requirements
- Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine passion for working with children
