Job Summary:
The Pre-Roll Production Lead at Maven Genetics is responsible for overseeing daily pre-roll manufacturing operations to ensure accurate dosing, consistent quality, and efficient workflow across all stages of production. This role provides hands-on leadership to Pre-Roll Technicians and Packaging Assemblers, supports equipment operation and basic maintenance, ensures inventory accuracy, and maintains compliance with all state cannabis regulations and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Pre-Roll Production Lead plays a critical role in achieving production goals while maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and support Pre-Roll Technicians and production staff in grinding, sifting, weigh-outs, filling, packing, and machine operation.
- Coordinate daily production workflows to ensure output targets, yields, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Set up, operate, adjust, and perform basic troubleshooting on pre-roll equipment, including knockboxes, cone loading machines, volumetric fillers, and multi-head weighers.
- Ensure consistent pre-roll density, accurate weights, and visual uniformity across all finished products.
- Conduct in-process quality checks on grind size, material texture, pack quality, cone integrity, and finished weights.
- Enforce compliance with GMP, HACCP, METRC requirements, and all applicable state and local cannabis regulations.
- Verify accuracy of batch records, labels, and inventory documentation.
- Monitor and track daily material usage, including flower, trim, cones, papers, and packaging supplies.
- Communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or damaged inventory to management immediately.
- Provide direction, coaching, and performance feedback to production team members.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new hires on SOPs, equipment operation, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Maintain detailed and accurate production logs, batch records, and shift reports.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product consistency.
- Escalate equipment issues to Maintenance and ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
- Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with sanitation and safety standards.
- Participate in required training sessions related to safety, compliance, and production operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support business objectives.

Qualifications:
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in cannabis manufacturing, pre-roll production, or a related high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience operating pre-roll machinery, grinders, sifters, and weighing equipment preferred.
- Strong understanding of cannabis quality standards, product handling, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience guiding and supporting production teams.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age and eligible to work in the cannabis industry.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
- Must be able to pass all background checks required by state cannabis regulations.
