We are seeking a motivated and compassionate pre-veterinary student to join our small animal veterinary practice as a Veterinary Assistant. This position is ideal for a student pursuing a career in veterinary medicine who is looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a clinical setting.Position RequirementsMust currently be enrolled in or actively participating in a pre-veterinary/pre-vet programWeekday availability is requiredPractice hours are Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday shiftsDependable, punctual, and willing to learnComfortable working with dogs and cats of varying sizes, temperaments, and medical needsPrevious veterinary experience is helpful but not requiredMust be able to work effectively as part of a veterinary teamResponsibilitiesSafely and properly handle and restrain dogs and catsAssist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care and medical proceduresAssist with medical care and treatments as directed by veterinarians and techniciansPrepare patients, treatment areas, and equipmentClean and disinfect exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipmentMaintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environmentAssist with patient care and monitoringFollow proper animal-handling, safety, and sanitation protocolsProvide compassionate care to patients throughout their visitPerform additional duties as needed to support the veterinary teamTraining & ExperienceHands-on training will be provided.
