Central Christian Church (CCC) is a Bible-centered, non-denominational Christian church located in urban Brownsville, Texas. Founded in 1910, CCC has a long history of faithful ministry in the Rio Grande Valley. We are committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, fostering spiritual growth, emphasizing missions, and cultivating a strong sense of community and service.

CCC is home to both an English-speaking and a Spanish-speaking congregation, each served by dedicated pastoral leadership. Periodically, the church gathers for unity services, where both congregations worship together as one body, reflecting our commitment to unity in Christ. Weekly attendance for the English service typically ranges from 125-175, with higher attendance during holidays and unity services. The church has experienced steady growth in recent years and owns adjacent land for future expansion, which is currently under prayerful discernment.

Brownsville is richly multicultural, with English and Spanish woven naturally into daily life. Community traditions are celebrated openly, most notably during Charro Days, an annual celebration honoring the shared heritage of the border region through parades, music, food, and civic pride. And yes, the food is exceptional. From long-standing family restaurants to coastal seafood and street-level favorites, meals here are a shared experience and a point of local pride.

Available to: men

Central Christian Church is prayerfully seeking a new full-time Preacher/Pastor who loves Scripture, values shared leadership, and desires to shepherd a growing congregation with humility, faithfulness, and clarity. We are looking for a pastor who is deeply rooted in biblical teaching, aligned with the Restoration Movement, and eager to serve within a collaborative, elder-led church culture.

Primary Responsibilities include:

Preaching and Teaching

• Preach the Sunday morning worship service for the full congregation.
• Participate in unity services where English and Spanish congregations worships together.
• Lead a morning Bible study.
• Teach a Wednesday class.
• Bring creativity, depth, and faithfulness to preaching and teaching.

Pastoral Care

• Provide hospital visitation for members and their families.
• Visit homebound and shut-in members.
• Share in the shepherding and pastoral care alongside fellow elders.

Congregational Life and Presence

• Maintain an active, visible presence in the life of the church.
• Foster strong relationships across generations and within a bilingual church context.

Leadership and Governance

• Serve as an Elder and work within a shared, elder-led leadership model.
• Attend elder meetings alongside church staff.
• Participate in ongoing discussions about church structure, leadership development, and member involvement as the church continues to refine and strengthen its leadership culture.
