As a Precision CNC Machinist, you’ll run a mix of manual and CNC equipment—lathes, mills, and grinders—to turn raw stock into exacting, inspection-ready components. Your night begins at 9:00 PM with a quick review of travelers and prints, followed by setups and first-article checks. Through the shift, you’ll monitor feeds and speeds, adjust offsets, and verify that every dimension holds—closing the night with a clean hand-off at 5:30 AM.
What a Night Looks Like
Review job packets and prints; prepare tooling, fixtures, and materials for machining.
Set up and operate manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders for precision parts.
Run first-article inspections using micrometers, vernier calipers, and attribute gages; adjust as needed.
Continuously monitor feeds/speeds, machine loads, and indicators; fine-tune for accuracy and surface finish.
Diagnose issues by observing parts, tools, and equipment behavior; implement corrective actions.
Conduct in-process and final inspections; document nonconformances and drive corrective measures.
Perform routine maintenance and determine timing/requirements for deeper service needs.
Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials; verify rigidity and concentricity.
What You’ll Bring
2+ years as a machine operator in a job shop environment.
Proficiency with CNC machine setup and changeover.
Hands-on experience with brass alloys.
Strong metrology skills: micrometers, vernier calipers, and attribute gages.
Ability to spot nonconforming product and recommend practical corrective actions.
Comfort reading gauges, dials, and indicators to ensure stable, accurate machining.
Applied math skills—from arithmetic and algebra to geometry, trigonometry, and occasional calculus/statistics—to solve machining problems.
Knowledge of machines, tooling, design intent, basic repair, and preventive maintenance.
Understanding of raw materials, production processes, and quality control for efficient manufacturing.
Capability to set up, adjust, and operate both basic and advanced machine tools for precision operations.
Ability to recognize new information on the floor and adjust decisions quickly.

Monday–Friday, 9:00 PM–5:30 AM. Compensation up to $35.00 per hour, based on experience.
