    Job Description

    A day in the life

In our Indianapolis, IN facility, your morning starts at a vertical machining center. You verify tool lengths, touch off probes, and load the G-code/M-code program you created. A first-article run follows, where you confirm critical features against engineering drawings using GD&T, then dial in tool wear and offsets. Midday, you pivot to turning—moving from a 2–4 axis lathe to a 5+ axis platform—clearing an alarm on a Fanuc control and performing a quick repair to keep production humming. You wrap up by validating dimensions with precision hand metrology and advanced gauges, documenting results, and sharing process improvements with the team to boost throughput and quality.

    What you’ll do

    • Set up and run CNC mills (3–4 axis VMC and 5+ axis VMC) and CNC lathes (2–4 axis and 5+ axis) to produce high-precision components.
    • Author and edit machine programs using G-Code and M-Code for accurate, efficient machining.
    • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform CNC machine repairs to sustain peak performance.
    • Execute production setups to specification, meeting rigorous quality and tolerance requirements.
    • Interpret engineering drawings using GD&T to ensure parts meet design intent.
    • Apply precision measurement and hand metrology for in-process and final verification.
    • Conduct advanced inspection and gauge measurement to validate critical dimensions.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to refine processes and enhance production efficiency.

    What you bring

    • Proven CNC machinist experience with deep knowledge of CNC tooling and programming.
    • Hands-on proficiency with Fanuc, Bridgeport, Mazak, Haas, Okuma, Doosan, Makino, Brother, and Hurco equipment.
    • Solid command of G-Code and M-Code.
    • Applied experience with GD&T on the shop floor.
    • Strong troubleshooting aptitude and ability to perform machine repairs.
    • Comfort with precision measurement tools and techniques.
    • Ability to excel independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
