Your Mission

Own the full programming lifecycle for complex components, from interpreting customer intent to releasing proven, efficient processes for production. You’ll leverage Mastercam and Smartcam to craft multi‑axis strategies, validate them on the machines, and mentor others along the way.

Key Outcomes

• Translate SolidWorks models and drawings into actionable toolpaths for mills and lathes.
• Engineer advanced 4‑axis, 5‑axis, and mill‑turn toolpaths for prototypes and low‑volume runs.
• Select tooling, workholding, and cutting parameters to hit tolerance, finish, and cycle‑time targets.
• Execute prove‑outs on the shop floor; optimize programs for stability and throughput.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and code issues; prevent recurrence with robust solutions.
• Produce clear setup sheets and tooling documentation for setup machinists.
• Collaborate across engineering, quality, and production; provide mentorship as needed.

Experience & Skills

• 8+ years CNC programming (job shop background strongly preferred).
• Master‑level Mastercam; strong SolidWorks proficiency (feature recognition/design intent).
• Extensive multi‑axis programming on both mills and lathes.
• Expert at GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Proven track record with tight tolerances and complex threading (ACME, buttress, custom).
• Independent, solutions‑oriented mindset; experience with post edits and macro/parametric programming.
• Comfort supporting quoting or manufacturability/DFM reviews.
• Hands‑on exposure to automation or lights‑out machining.

Technical Environment

• CAM: Mastercam, Mazatrol
• CAD: SolidWorks, AutoCAD (3D modeling and 2D drawings)
• Milling: 3–4 axis VMCs (Fanuc, Mazak, Doosan, Makino); 5+ axis VMCs (Fanuc, Mazak)
• Turning: 2–4 axis and 5+ axis lathes (Mazak, Doosan)
