Preconstruction Lead

The Civi Group has partnered with a respected Massachusetts-based construction firm known for delivering large-scale U.S. Federal Government projects both domestically and internationally.

This company has a track record of delivering high-profile projects like renovations at Alcatraz, Coast Guard housing in Alaska, and hurricane recovery efforts in Puerto Rico. Located in Metro West, MA – no travel required. They are currently looking for a Lead Preconstruction Manager to oversee and manage the preconstruction process from bid development through to project handoff.

Compensation depends on experience but is up to 140K.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and submission of bid proposals, ensuring adherence to project RFP requirements and federal regulations.
• Manage internal document distribution, coordinating scope assignments with estimators to ensure proper task delegation.
• Collaborate with Design Partners on design-build projects to integrate preliminary designs into bids.
• Oversee pre-bid site visits and facilitate communication between stakeholders and project teams.
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for accuracy and alignment with project scopes and schedules.
• Support the development of project schedules in collaboration with the Scheduler and ensure pricing aligns with project needs.
• Assist in finalizing price proposals for management approval and ensure compliance with all legal and financial requirements.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 8+ years’ experience in the construction industry, with a focus on estimating.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software; experience with Sage Estimating (Timberline) and On-Screen Takeoff is a plus.
• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and government project requirements is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Experience mentoring and leading junior staff is preferred.
