Salary Range: $17.00 To $17.50 Hourly

Emmy Squared Park Slope is hiring Prep Cooks to join our team! We are looking for reliable and motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing high-quality ingredients and takes pride in maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness. Morning and daytime availability is required!

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare specific food items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.

• Maintain kitchen sanitation in accordance with health department guidelines.

• Set up and maintain assigned kitchen workstations.

• Properly store food, labeling and dating items as needed.

• Follow safe food handling procedures at all times.

• Minimize loss and waste through appropriate use of supplies and equipment.

• Report necessary equipment repairs and maintenance to management.

• Keep work areas neat and clean; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation.

• Perform other back-of-house duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a cook in a full-service restaurant.

• Passion for food—pizza knowledge is a plus!

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks.

• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.

• Must have daytime availability, including weekends and holidays.

• Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. and push/pull up to 75 lbs.

• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods, with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching overhead.

• Ability to use culinary tools (knives, commercial equipment, etc.) and identify flavors through tasting/smelling.
