Prep Cook / Porter

Tacocina is an open-air taqueria from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group. Located along the East River in Williamsburg's Domino Park, Tacocina serves tacos, cocktails, and seasonal bites in a setting that blends casual dining with sweeping views of Manhattan's skyline.

The Prep Cook / Porter is a warm, friendly, and highly motivated employee that delivers the highest level of hospitality and service to our guests. Prep cooks / Porters are expected to work primarily in the back-of-house stations. This is a seasonal position beginning at the time of hire until Fall 2026, with the opportunity to transfer within the company based on performance.

Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality

Consistently provide an outstanding guest experience and provide an outstanding culinary experience

Maintain facilities in compliance with DOH standards

Support the back-of-house functions, including but not limited to prep work and support preparing dishes from the menu

1+ years of previous food service and/or customer service experience

Knowledge of fast casual-style food, service, and beverage programs

Experience using POS systems

Knowledge of basic cooking techniques

Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time

Experience in a kitchen support position within a similar environment

Knowledge of DOH policies and practices

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days, nights, and weekends
