Emerald Packaging is continuing to grow, and we are expanding our Graphics Department. We are currently seeking a full-time Prepress Assistant to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is early in their career or a recent college graduate who wants to build hands-on experience in graphic production, prepress, flexographic printing, and flexible packaging. You’ll work closely with experienced members of our Graphics and Production teams while learning how artwork moves from the digital file stage through proofing and ultimately to the printing process.

Job Summary

The Prepress Assistant supports the preparation of accurate printing resources for our flexographic printing operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review customer art files and assist with creating production orders for color separation, proof production, and flexographic plate production.Coordinate with Customer Service, Sales, customers, and outside service providers regarding prepress production requirements.
• Develop and track timelines for prepress production stages and communicate project status during daily production meetings.
• Coordinate the production and approval of PDF proofs and contract proofs.
• Develop die lines and templates for various flexible packaging products.
• Create technical illustrations and diagrams to support the printing and finishing processes.
• Assist with troubleshooting artwork and prepress issues and communicate potential problems to the appropriate team members.

Learn and apply flexographic printing principles, prepress practices, and current industry technology.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications, Prepress, Printing Technology, Packaging, or a related field preferred.
• Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors in artwork, dimensions, specifications, and production requirements.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.

Onsite: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation

$26.00 - $28.00 / hour
