St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Ann Arbor, Michigan is accepting applications for a full-time Lead Preschool teacher in our 3/4 Enrichment classroom. - Develop instructional methods, materials and techniques using developmentally appropriate practices for children.
- Discuss children's experiences and development with parents and co-teachers.
- Evaluate, document and assess the development and progress of children, including developing plans to accommodate the unique needs or circumstances of individual children.
- Participate in meetings and conferences to determine methods, techniques and activities in order to provide developmentally appropriate practices in classrooms.
- Support the administrative, educational and operational activities of the school.
Required Qualifications: - Minimum of 2 years experience working with preschool aged children in a formal early childhood setting is necessary.
- Ability to move, hold and position oneself when interacting with children and objects up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally access/use equipment in classroom facilities.
- Must be able to interact and move around with children in such a way as to fully participate in classroom activities.
- Ability to supervise and interact with children outdoors for extended periods of varied weather conditions.
Desired Qualifications: - Coursework in child related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in the area of adapting the environment and activities to meet the needs of all children.
- Strength in creating partnerships with children, families and colleagues.
