Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Press Operators for a temp-to-hire manufacturing opportunity in Pittsburg, Kansas. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring industrial press equipment, following production specifications, and ensuring finished products meet established quality standards.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, maintaining consistent production output, and following equipment safety procedures.

Previous manufacturing or machine-operating experience is preferred. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and a willingness to learn.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour or higher, depending on experience.

Required Experience & Skills

Previous manufacturing or machine-operating experience preferred. Ability to safely operate or learn industrial press equipment and follow established production instructions.

Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, an understanding of quality expectations, and the ability to identify obvious equipment or product concerns.

Ability to work independently, follow instructions, maintain consistent productivity, and meet attendance expectations is essential. Candidates must also be available to work the assigned first-shift schedule.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Operate and monitor industrial press equipment throughout production. Follow work orders, production instructions, and applicable specifications to manufacture quality components.

Inspect finished products for accuracy, consistency, and visible defects. Monitor machine performance, identify potential equipment concerns, and report mechanical or production issues to supervisors.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation while following all company safety procedures and production guidelines.

Work efficiently to support daily manufacturing goals and perform additional production responsibilities as assigned.

Press Operation & Production

Candidates will operate press machinery according to established manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities include monitoring equipment during production, following applicable work instructions, maintaining consistent output, and ensuring manufactured components meet quality expectations.

Candidates should be comfortable performing repetitive production tasks while maintaining attention to safety and accuracy.

Quality Inspection

Inspect completed products for visible defects, consistency, and accuracy. Compare finished components against applicable production requirements and report quality concerns promptly.

Maintain consistent workmanship and help prevent defective products from advancing through the manufacturing process.

Equipment Monitoring & Safety

Monitor press equipment for unusual operation, mechanical problems, or production concerns.

Follow established machine safety procedures, report equipment issues promptly, and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Candidates must follow all applicable company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a Press Operator, Machine Operator, Manufacturing Associate, or Production Worker is preferred.

Experience working around industrial machinery, following production specifications, performing basic quality inspections, and maintaining production standards is valuable.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Candidates should be comfortable performing repetitive manufacturing tasks, bending, reaching, and handling production materials as required.

Work takes place in an industrial manufacturing environment with regular exposure to press machinery, production equipment, and manufactured components.

All company safety procedures and PPE requirements must be followed.
