POSITION TITLE: Press Operator 3rd SHIFT

REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Short Run and Press Room
Position Summary:
The Press Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining press machines to support production within the Short Run department. This role ensures efficient manufacturing processes by monitoring machine performance, inspecting finished products for quality, and adhering to safety and production standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate press machines according to production specifications and company procedures.
- Monitor machine performance and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and adjustments on machinery to prevent downtime.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and escalate major concerns to maintenance personnel.
- Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and schematics to ensure proper production.
- Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, output, and any defects.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and quality control personnel to meet production goals.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience operating press machines or working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, as needed.
Experience/Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in machine operation or press work is a plus.
Other Details:
- Work Environment: Office setting with regular interaction with production and warehouse areas.
- Physical Demands: Role may require occasional walking, standing, and warehouse site visits.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for extended hours as needed.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required for supplier visits, conferences, and inter-facility coordination.
