Primary Care Clinical Medical Assistant (Outpatient)
Location: Lexington, MA 02421
Engagement: 20-week assignment | Compensation: $29.00–$32.00/hr (W2)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
A day in the role
You arrive just before 8:30 AM, prepare the exam rooms, and review the first patient’s chart in Epic. Throughout the day, you’ll greet patients, capture vitals (including blood pressure, height, and weight), and perform EKGs and phlebotomy when ordered. You’ll run point-of-care (POC) tests, track results, and document everything accurately. Between visits, you help keep rooms stocked and organized, coordinate diagnostic and lab appointments, and ensure patient flow is smooth for the care team.
What you’ll do
- Capture and document vital signs (blood pressure, height, weight) and support general MA back-office duties.
- Perform EKGs and phlebotomy with attention to accuracy and patient comfort.
- Conduct POC testing and record results according to clinic protocols.
- Schedule diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests; follow up on next steps as needed.
- Maintain exam rooms, instruments, and medical supply levels.
- Support patient care operations to keep the day running on time.
- Work confidently within Epic for documentation, orders, and scheduling.
What you’ll bring
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (required).
- BLS (AHA) certification (required).
- Medical Assistant certification (preferred).
- Epic experience (required).
- Point-of-care (POC) testing experience (required).
- Experience scheduling diagnostic and lab tests (required).
- Demonstrated skill in taking blood pressure and performing core MA responsibilities.
- Residence within 20 miles of the facility (required).
