Primary Care Physician - OB/GYN Department: Primary Care Location: Mexico, MO — On-Site Job Type: Full-time Position Summary: Arthur Center is looking for a dedicated, skilled OB/GYN Physician to join our Primary Care team and provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to women and families across central Missouri. In this role, you will serve as an essential specialist within our integrated care model — delivering prenatal and postnatal care, managing gynecologic conditions, and collaborating closely with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and community partners to ensure every patient receives whole-person, coordinated care. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Obstetric Care - Provide comprehensive prenatal care including initial assessments, ongoing monitoring, and patient education throughout pregnancy.
- Provide postnatal care and support for patients and newborns following delivery.
Gynecologic Care - Conduct comprehensive gynecologic evaluations including well-woman exams, Pap smears, STI screening, and contraceptive counseling.
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of gynecologic conditions including endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids, menstrual disorders, and pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Perform gynecologic procedures and minor surgeries within scope and as clinically appropriate.
- Provide menopause management and long-term women's health care across the lifespan.
Integrated Care and Collaboration - Work collaboratively with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, whole-person care.
- Integrate behavioral health considerations into women's health care, including perinatal mental health screening and referral.
- Provide consultation and clinical guidance to primary care providers on OB/GYN matters as needed.
- Participate in community outreach and women's health education initiatives across the communities we serve.
- Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement activities, and organizational committees as requested.
Documentation and Compliance - Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation in the electronic health record in compliance with all applicable legal and confidentiality standards including HIPAA.
- Meet all internal and external reporting requirements including data collection for quality improvement.
- Perform other duties as requested by department leadership.
Skills and Attributes: - Strong clinical skills across the full scope of obstetric and gynecologic care with the ability to exercise sound independent judgment.
- Excellent patient communication skills — able to build trust and comfort with patients of diverse backgrounds across all stages of life.
- Understanding of the unique health needs of underserved and rural populations and a genuine commitment to meeting those needs.
- Collaborative team player who works effectively within an integrated, multidisciplinary care model.
- Knowledge of behavioral health considerations in women's health, including perinatal mental health.
- Committed to continuous professional development and staying current with evidence-based OB/GYN practices.
Required Qualifications: - MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school required.
- Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program required.
- Active, unrestricted Missouri medical license required.
- Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology preferred; Board Eligible considered.
- Active DEA license required.
- Medicaid numbers and NPI preferred.
- Minimum of two years of directly applicable clinical experience preferred.
