Primary Care Physician Opening – Shelton, CT

Position Summary

A well-established, not-for-profit community hospital is seeking a Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join its outpatient primary care practice in Shelton, Connecticut. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity focused on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care in a collaborative clinical setting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in primary care, preventive medicine, and chronic disease management. Providers will treat a diverse patient population across the lifespan and manage a broad range of conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and other acute and chronic illnesses.

Key Responsibilities• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment• Perform routine physical exams, preventive screenings, and health assessments• Manage acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and infections• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging• Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans• Educate patients on disease prevention, wellness, and lifestyle modifications• Collaborate with specialists and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care programs

Qualifications• MD or DO from an accredited medical school• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine• Active Connecticut medical license (or eligibility)• Open to both experienced physicians and recent graduates• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient care skills
